Rachel D. Graham, the host of #RealTalk with Rachel, is a 25-year veteran of the communications industry with a talent for strategic message development, organizational communication, media relations and event coordination. Her areas of practice include brand development and management; economic development marketing; event production; hospitality and tourism marketing; multicultural marketing; nonprofit strategic planning and communications; political communications, and small business management. She is a respected social media influencer under the pseudonym Bayou Lois Lane and avid contributor to conversations on economic equity, social justice and pop culture.
A gifted political communications strategist, Rachel got her start as a fledgling account executive working on the 1999 campaign of former Philadelphia mayor John F. Street, rising through the ranks to serve as site manager for his general election celebration. She would go on to build a career advising non-profit organizations, small businesses and corporations in several industry sectors on strategically linking message to mission. She has held leadership positions with some of the leading non-profit community development organizations in the city of New Orleans, in some cases launching organizational communications teams, activating comprehensive rebrands and establishing communications protocol. Additionally, she has managed organizational communications for some of the nation's leading economic development entities.
Rachel is a graduate of the Women's Campaign School at Yale 2014 Class and a member of the New Leaders Council of Louisiana Class of 2015. She is also a member of the New Orleans Association of Black Journalists.
